Effective
AI and automated access
We support discovery, accurate citation, and accessible reading. Ordinary search indexing, assistive technology, and user-directed retrieval or summarization of public pages are welcome, subject to applicable law and the rights attached to the material. Retain useful source links and distinguish an assistant's explanation from the author's own words.
Browser tools
The publication library can expose experimental WebMCP tools in supported browsers. search_publications searches listed titles and summaries. open_publication opens a listed article in the current tab, so it changes the page you are viewing. These tools do not submit inquiries, edit publications, or grant access to private records.
A browser or assistant you choose may transmit queries or retrieved material to its provider. That provider's privacy terms apply to its processing. Do not supply confidential or sensitive information through public search tools. Ordinary links remain the fallback when WebMCP is unavailable.
Responsible automated use
Follow published crawler directions, reasonable rate limits, and access restrictions. Do not overload the service, evade blocks, harvest contact details for spam, impersonate a person, or present generated output as an official publication. A machine-readable endpoint is not permission to perform unrelated actions or acquire additional rights.
Where our permission is legally required, systematic full-text mirroring, redistribution of a corpus, commercial data feeds, and use of protected material to build or train general-purpose models require a written agreement. The same applies to a bulk retrieval service that substitutes for the archive. Individual research and accessibility assistance are not prohibited merely because a computer performs them.
This policy does not override statutory exceptions, public-domain status, or a material's existing license, including an applicable Creative Commons license. Robots files and discovery metadata communicate preferences; they are not access security or proof of copyright entitlement. Contact the policy contact for a defined data or reuse license.
